Mayor Boaz stated a   public hearing was held on March 22, 2007 on what to do with the City of Parsons excess property.  The East Side Building that house the Police Department located at 27 East Main Street could be torn down and made into a public parking lot.  Danny Graves has offer to tear down the building without charging if the city would make it a public parking lot.  Mayor then asked if there was any discussion.   Other buildings talked about was the old City Hall located at 66 West Second Street, and the car wash a joining it, and the incubator buildings located on Long Avenue.  The old Library building has been lease out to the Decatur County Shepherd Association, and the factory building has been lease out to Green Earth Bio Fuel, Inc. for a year.   The discussion centered on tearing the old City Hall down, along with the car wash and to use this for public parking until it could be sold or to see what needs to be done a later time.  Mayor stated that Danny Graves was not interested in tearing the old City Hall down, and that City workers would have to do it, and that an environmental study would have to be done.

Motion by Dwight Lancaster to let Danny Graves tear the East side building down and to pave the lot when City is able to, and use it as a public parking lot until something else was decided.  Second by Dale Reynolds.  Vote:  All Ayes
