Regular Board Meeting, May 7, 2007

 

The Parsons City Council met for its regular monthly meeting, Monday, May 7, 2007 at 7:00 p .m. a the City meeting room Mayor Tim David Boaz called the meeting to order.

Communications from Mayor:  Mayor Boaz stated that the Bisbee Tent had been set up and city employees are working to ensure the tent will be ready for the next Toby Show to be presented at the first annual Parsons Peavine Arts and Crafts Festival in September. Mayor Boaz also stated he had received a letter from Waste Industries that notified their intent to begin charging for solid waste hauled to their dump site effective July 1, 2007.  Mayor also stated that he had contacted Decaturville Mayor Tim Grace and they have agreed to hire an attorney to address the situation.

                ethics policy for the officers, employees, and advisory board members of 

    the City of Parsons, Tennessee.    Motion to pass this ordinance on second 

    reading by Dwight Lancaster.  Second by Dale Reynolds. Vote: Joe Don

    White-Aye, Dale Reynolds-Aye, Harold Fisher-Aye, Dwight Lancaster-

Item II:  Second Reading on Ordinance No: 268-An ordinance to amend the

              Municipal Zoning Ordinance of Parsons, Tennessee:  Adoption of sign

              Regulations.  Motion to pass this ordinance on second reading by Joseph

   Fisher.  Second by Dwight Lancaster.  Vote: Joe Don White-Aye

   Dale Reynolds-Aye, Harold Fisher-Aye, Dwight Lancaster-Aye,

               Joseph Fisher-Aye, David Wilbanks-Absent, and Mark Davis-absent.

Item I:  First Reading on Ordinance No: 269- An ordinance enacting a Municipal 

              Tree Ordinance.  Motion to pass this ordinance on first reading by Dwight

              Lancaster.  Second by Dale Reynolds. Vote: Joe Don White-Aye,

   Dale Reynolds-Aye, Harold Fisher-Aye, Dwight Lancaster-Aye,

               Joseph Fisher-Aye, David Wilbanks-Absent, and Mark Davis-absent.

 

 

Item II: First Reading on Ordinance No: 270-An Ordinance to amend the City of

                Parsons Zoning to allow bed and breakfast homestays as use on appeal in

                An R-1 (low density residential) and R-2 (Medium Density Residential

                District) Motion to pass this on first reading by Dwight Lancaster.

               Second by Dale Reynolds.  Vote: Joe Don White-Aye,

   Dale Reynolds-Aye, Harold Fisher-Aye, Dwight Lancaster-

               Aye, Joseph Fisher-Aye, David Wilbanks-Absent, and Mark Davis-absent.

 

Item III: Opening of seal bids on City Paving Project-award or reject as determine

                 by City Council members.  Mayor opened the bids:
