Small businesses with under 50 employees account for over 80% of job creation in the USA. Studies show that small businesses fail up to 80% of the time in the first three years of operation.   On the other hand, well over 85% of small businesses that start in a "Business Incubator" are still operating successfully at the end of the same three year timeframe. 

With these factors in mind, the City of Parsons  with the assistance of a grant from the U.S. Delta Regional Authority  started the Center for Business Enterprise as the home to a small business incubator for the city.  Patterned after similar such projects in larger cities  and urban areas across the country,  this incubator will provide assistance in the form of start-up reduced rent schedules,  training assistance,  business support , assistance in setting up their books,    governmental reporting,   mentoring from business leaders,  and assistance with start-up financing.
